OCH Emergency Medical Services Director Michael Hunt, NREMT-P, was recently recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for achieving 30 consecutive years of National EMS Certification! “Michael’s institutional knowledge and level of expertise as an emergency care provider can only be achieved by a long-time commitment to the healthcare industry,” said OCH Administrator/CEO Jim Jackson. “Throughout his 30 years of service, Michael has undoubtedly provided emergency care to thousands of people in our community and has evolved our EMS services to provide advanced care for Oktibbeha County and Mississippi State University. We commend Michael and thank him for his service.” Hunt was nationally registered as a paramedic in 1991, and has maintained status as a Nationally Registered EMT by completing on a biennial basis the most comprehensive recertification program for EMS professionals in America, as well as participating in regular continuing education courses. In addition to providing emergency care in the field and hospital transfers, Hunt and the emergency medical services department at OCH work closely with Mississippi State Athletics to provide immediate, onsite care at MSU athletic events. As leaders of emergency care in the community, OCH EMS organizes and leads training programs for area volunteer fire departments and participates in school-based programs for youth. ... Pain Management Specialist Dr. Doug Tucker takes the time to listen to his patients to identify and treat the root cause of pain. As one of Dr. Tucker's patients, Robert Craig said, "He doesn't give up. If one treatment doesn't work, he moves on to the next thing until he finds the problem." Robert's wife, Deanna, who has also been under the care of Dr. Tucker said, "He is consistent in finding the problem and treating it, and he has a very good bedside manner."
